Wear and Use Guidelines
These guidelines are designed to help you avoid any surprises then you turn in your vehicle at lease end. Together with the BMW Lease-End Inspection Form and the BMW Inspection Wheel, these guidelines will help you assess your vehicle`s condition prior to lease end. These guidelines form the criteria that will be used during your scheduled inspection, and the BMW Lease-End Inspection Form that will be used during the inspection is based on these guidlines.

Exceeding guidelines
These examples exceed what is considered normal wear and use, and will result in charges at turn-in.
Mechanical components
Every item must be in good working order and operating properly.
  Includes climate control system, audio system, dashboard switches, etc.
Mechanical components
If a component does not work properly.
Examples: The fan is not blowing or the radio does not function properly.

Major mechanical damage voids the BMW Lease-End Inspection Form and will result in an additional inspection by a third party. Check with your BMW Center prior to turn-in; repairs may be covered under warranty.

No service indicator/warning lights showing.
Service indicator
Any service indicator or warning lights showing may result in charges. Please refer to your owner's manual or service and warranty booklet.
For many late-model vehicles, scheduled maintenance is free up to a certain mileage and time limit. If your vehicle is still covered, simply bring it to a BMW Center and have it serviced whenever the Service Interval indicator is down to yellow and avoid having to pay for these repairs.

BMW scheduled maintenance followed.
All BMW scheduled maintenance and repair records kept.
Drivetrain components
If you forget to comply with the recommended scheduled maintenance schedule, serious engine damage and drivetrain damage can result. This can cause costly repairs.
Example: You haven't changed the oil.

Note: If you do not make needed repairs to correct excess wear and use, you will be assessed a charge.
